Month by month
These are AEMET’s standard climate values for the Gran Canaria Airport station, calculated over 1981 to 2010. The columns are the mean temperature, the mean daily maximum and minimum, the rain in millimetres, the number of days with rain and the hours of sunshine in the month.

What the numbers say about winter
- December: average maximum 22.2 °C, average minimum 16.2 °C, about 4.5 days with rain and 179 hours of sunshine, roughly 5.8 hours a day.
- January: average maximum 20.8 °C, average minimum 15.0 °C, about 3.1 days with rain and 184 hours of sunshine, roughly 5.9 hours a day.
- February: average maximum 21.2 °C, average minimum 15.0 °C, about 3.0 days with rain and 191 hours of sunshine, roughly 6.8 hours a day.
- November is the start of the milder season: average maximum 24.2 °C and 3.9 days with rain.
The daily sunshine figures are our own calculation from AEMET’s monthly totals. Summer is much drier: from May to August there is almost no rain in the table.
Read this before you rely on it
The station is the airport (24 m above sea level, in the municipality of Ingenio), not Playa del Inglés, and the values are averages. Conditions in the south of the island can differ from the airport on any given day, so use the table as a guide, not a forecast. For the days of your trip, check the current forecast on AEMET.
