You can see a lot of Gran Canaria from Playa del Inglés without hiring a car. The island’s buses are run by Global, and several lines pass through Playa del Inglés. This is what the operator’s own pages say.
To and from the airport: line 66
Line 66 runs between the airport and Faro de Maspalomas and serves Playa del Inglés. Our airport guide has the details, including where to catch it and the fare.
To Las Palmas: lines 30 and 50
Line 30 is the direct line between Las Palmas (Santa Catalina and San Telmo stations) and Faro de Maspalomas. Its stops include Shopping Centre Yumbo and Playa del Inglés. From Las Palmas the first bus leaves at 06:15 and the last at 21:15. From Faro de Maspalomas towards Las Palmas the first weekday bus leaves at 07:15 and the last at 23:00. Line 50 also runs between Las Palmas and Faro de Maspalomas.
To Puerto de Mogán: line 1
Line 1 connects Las Palmas with Puerto de Mogán and serves both Playa del Inglés and Faro de Maspalomas on the way. According to the operator, it runs from the early hours until late at night. Weekday and weekend timetables are different.
How to pay
Global’s tourist information points to its card system (card balance and applications at bonos.autgc.org) and to a fare search tool on its website. Fares depend on the route, so check the fare for your journey on Global’s website.
When a private transfer is simpler
For arrivals with luggage or late flights, a private driver can be easier. We can arrange one from the airport to the apartment: book a transfer with us at a discounted price.
